The five parts of a home policy

  • Personal property: furniture, electronics and clothing
  • Liability: injuries and damage to others
  • Loss of use: hotel and meals during repairs

Flood is not included

Standard home and renters policies exclude flood. Flood policies often have a waiting period before they start, so plan ahead.

Questions we hear a lot

Still have a question? Call (571) 579-6890 and a licensed agent will help.

What does homeowners insurance cover?

Your house and other structures, your belongings, extra living costs while repairs happen and your liability if someone is hurt on your property. Flood, earthquake and normal wear are not covered.

Is home insurance required?

No law requires it, but nearly every mortgage lender does. We send proof of coverage to your lender before closing.

Do I need renters insurance?

Your landlord's policy does not cover your belongings or your liability. Many leases require renters insurance, and it is often one of the most affordable policies you can buy.

Why did my home insurance go up?

Higher rebuilding costs, an automatic inflation increase, more claims in your area, a claim on your policy or an older roof. We explain the change and re-shop before renewal.
